Introducing Lakeside Studios
In collaboration with the Lakeside Inn and the Lillstreet Art Center, portoluz is re-developing Lakeside Studios- as an art-making workshop and as a social justice retreat space for community-based organizers.
The Studios behind the Lakeside Inn were developed by John Wilson, the internationally known print dealer and an early founder of the Art Expositions at Navy Pier. During the early years of the Lakeside Center for the Arts, the artists included Richard Hunt, Ed Paschke, and Roger Brown, all of whom are now world famous.
Building on the fabled tradition of the past, portoluz is reclaiming this extraordinary site by re-introducing the Lakeside Studios for art-making, casual adult education and social justice retreats Nestled in the trees behind the Lakeside Inn and steps from the beach, Lakeside Studios is the perfect location for contemplation, creative experimentation, ongoing adult education.
